Salary: £26,138 – £28,894

Rachel House is one of the two hospices run by CHAS, which delivers the only hospice service of its kind in Scotland. Following internal promotions we have a number of Staff Nurse vacancies available, which offer an exciting and unique opportunity to work alongside a highly motivated and skilled team and to be part of an organisation where everyone is passionate about the work we do.

We provide specialist palliative nursing care to babies, children and young people and as a Staff Nurse you will provide a high standard of family centered care, supporting the needs of babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions and their families. This support will be extended to provide emotional and practical support in between visits to Rachel House.

You will provide specialist palliative nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, and by adapting care plans as appropriate, to meet the complex needs of the children in your care.

In creating a home from home environment at Rachel House you will combine specialist care with forming precious memories through play, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and new experiences; ensuring that Rachel House is a place where children truly come to live life to the full.

You will have a number of opportunities for professional development including regular clinical supervision and reflective practice which will support your revalidation requirements. There will be many opportunities to share your knowledge and experience with the Nursing Team, including Students and Care Support Volunteers. A combination of working days and nights with flexible-rostering enables you to balance work and home life. There will also be opportunities to work with the CHAS at Home Team.

Your post qualifying experience of working with and caring for babies, children or young people with complex nursing needs and relevant clinical experience will be an asset. It is essential that you have a registered children’s nurse qualification.
