In your home

Our CHAS at Home team care for children and young people in their own homes across Scotland in between hospice visits or when they are too ill to travel. Generally the support is short term but it is regularly assessed to ensure it meets the needs of each individual family. For families who live in isolated areas in particular, the service is a lifeline.

Senior Nursing Support Worker

One of the things I love most of all about my role is caring and playing with the babies, children and young people that use the CHAS at Home service. The privilege of knowing that our families can safely leave their precious children in our care offers, at times, the only respite they have to enjoy time away from the 24 hour care they provide themselves.

Activities Facilitator

I am a Child and Family worker for under-five’s, my role takes me across Scotland to provide support to families with young children. I visit them at home or hospital and find out what is important to them. This helps me to understand their needs and how I can help. I feel very lucky to be working within Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Units supporting families whose baby’s lives may be short and helping them to make precious memories for the future.
